Texas Cultural Trust provides one-stop hub for artists impacted by COVID-19

The Texas Cultural Trust has created a collection of financial and informational resources for artists on their website, including tabs for Recently Added, Full List A-Z, All Arts, Arts Education, Dance and Theatre, Health and Medical, Literary Arts, Business and Organization Support, and Music.

 

Specifically for Literary Arts:

 

Authors League Fund The Author League Fund helps professional writers in financial need because of medical or health-related problems, temporary loss of income, or other misfortune by providing no-strings-attached “loans” to pay for pressing expenses. Apply 

 

PEN American Writers’ Emergency Fund The PEN America Writers’ Emergency Fund is a small grants program for professional—published or produced—writers in acute or unexpected financial crisis. Depending on the situation and level of need, grants are in the range of $2,000. Apply 

 

Queer Writers of Color Relief Fund This fund is for queer writers of color who are in need of financial assistance. The fund will make disbursements once per day. Apply 

 

Sustainable Arts Foundation Awards supporting artists and writers with families with up to $6,000. 

 

Please note that the 2020 Texas Young Masters Celebration scheduled for April 20 at the ZACH Theatre in Austin has been canceled. The trust and the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) will honor their commitment to provide two-year scholarship grants for fifteen Texas Young Masters.
